Headfooter Ornament inspired by the remarkable Headfooter from Hieronymus Bosch's The Last Judgement. This bizarre creature has almost no body, its head and legs merging directly into one another.

In the foreground of the gruesome central panel of The Last Judgement stands a creature characteristic of Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450 to 1516): the headfooter. Bosch did not invent this figure entirely himself. Headfooters already appeared in stories from classical antiquity about strange peoples believed to inhabit the edges of the known world, and Bosch developed this ancient tradition in his own distinctly fantastic style.

In The Last Judgement, Bosch warns of the consequences of a sinful life. Only a few chosen souls reach heaven, while the great majority of humanity is subjected to the most bizarre and terrifying punishments.
