Collection: Michelangelo and The Renaissance

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, commonly known as Michelangelo, was a Renaissance artist of extraordinary talent and creativity. He lived from 1475 to 1564 and was one of the most influential figures in the history of Western art. Michelangelo is perhaps best known for his sculpture. His most famous sculptures include "David," a colossal marble statue that portrays the biblical hero, and "Pieta," a sculpture of the Virgin Mary holding the lifeless body of Jesus. Both sculptures showcase his exceptional ability to carve lifelike figures from stone.

As we add more Renaissance artists, they will appear here, such as Botticellii, Giambologna, and Vermeer.
