Van Gogh | Bold Expressive Color

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) had an enormous influence on 20th-century art. Her is know for his bold, expressive, and visible brushwork. He applied paint with thick impasto (raised, textured layers of paint) and dynamic brushstrokes. This technique added texture and vitality to his paints. Amongst his most famous paintings are Starry, Cafe Terrace at Nigh, Sunflowers, and Irises.
