Etruscan Thin Bronze Figures draw inspiration from the large Greek statues of nude men (kouroi) and clothed women (korai), leading to a thriving tradition in Etruria. Unlike the Greeks, the Etruscans did not aim for realistic human form, instead favoring sculptures with an almost expressionistic style. The pinnacle of this approach was reached with the so-called stretched figures: elongated, flat forms typically created from the 5th to the 2nd century BC. These figures originated in Southern Etruria, where starting in the 8th century, small figures were carefully cut from thin sheets of metal.
