This Hellenistic relief of the Three Graces (ca. 2nd century BC), daughters of Zeus and constant companions of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Aglaia stands for beauty, Euphrosyne for joy, and Thalia for abundance and luck. Here, they almost seem to dance. The lively style and the suggestion of rhythmic movement are characteristic of this period of late Greek sculpture.
